State communications operator of Azerbaijan to contribute to business development of Internet providers

The managements of 'Baku Telephone Communications' Production Unit and Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan gave instructions to assist the development of the business of internet service providers in the country, the chairman of the Internet Community of Azerbaijan Ghalib Gurbanov told Trend on Thursday.

According to Gurbanov, the managements gave appropriate instructions to remove bureaucratic obstacles and provide the necessary support to Internet service providers in expanding their geographical presence and Internet services via telecommunications hubs of 'Baku Telephone Communications'.

The issue of interaction of the operator with the Internet service providers was considered at the meeting which took place in the Production Unit, with the participation of all Internet service providers, as well as the heads of telecommunications hubs and all infrastructure departments of the Production Unit.  

"The Internet service providers with telecom operators a lot in common, and many of our services depend from them [operators]. Guide Industrial Association has given strict orders for the immediate implementation of all incoming applications as Internet service providers to install ADSL-hardware, so and to connect to this service, "- said Gurbanov.

Also, according to the chairman of the Internet Community, the Production Unit also instructed to create the possibility for Internet service providers to apply for connection to ADSL service through the platform of operator, and for users of all service providers to resolve technical issues to address on a single number (155), which was previously available only to customers of State Internet service provider BakinterNet.

Earlier, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov instructed the heads of production units Aztelekom and Baku Telephone Communications to assist in creating the necessary conditions for business development of private Internet service providers.

Abbasov said the Ministry has repeatedly received complaints about the obstacles for some providers to expand their business via telecommunications hubs of State telecommunication operators.
