Over the past three months of 2017, the number of Internet users increased by 1.2 times in Turkmenistan, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported Jan. 12 citing the country’s Communications Ministry.
Their number increased by 1.2 times, and revenues from providing network services rose by two million manats from October 5 to December 31, 2017, says the report.
This was achieved through competent marketing campaigns of national Internet providers and reducing prices for the population by an average of 35 percent, according to the article.
The country is actively introducing Internet banking and mobile banking services, and the number of educational institutions with access to the Internet is increasing.
