Turkmenistan creates new projects in field of digitalization

New projects in the field of digitalization have been created in Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan's State News Agency.

The projects were presented during an online conference of the working group of the Interdepartmental Commission for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan.

The national project of the Unified Identification and Authentication System is designed to provide authorized access for participants of information interaction (citizens-applicants and officials of executive authorities) to state electronic resources in order to provide electronic services.

Access is granted after passing the registration procedure on the unified portal of state services of Turkmenistan – e.gov.tm.

Besides, the project of System of Interdepartmental Electronic Interaction is an information system that will allow the central, regional, and local authorities, credit institutions, and other participants of the system to exchange data required for the provision of public services to citizens and organizations in electronic form.

Turkmenistan is working on the introduction of information and communication technologies (ICT) in all sectors of the national economy.

The acceleration of work in this direction will be facilitated by the creation of a geo-information center, which will analyze and store information about all objects of Turkmenistan's urban infrastructure.

The country also pays special attention to training specialists in the field of ICT.

The concept of the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan until 2025 is also aimed at economic diversification.

The ongoing reforms allow increasing mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners and international organizations.

During the first six months of 2020, Turkmenistan has participated in a number of meetings held online by international organizations.

The country is also implementing digitalization in different sectors of the economy and, in particular, in the financial, agro-industrial, and other areas.
