Azerbaijani Azercell mobile operator continued to provide online services to its 5-million subscriber base in 2020, the mobile operator told Trend.
The company became the first operator of the country to introduce its mobile network in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from Armenian occupation.
The geographical coverage of Azercell's networks is 94.8 percent within Azerbaijan.
"Over the past year, Azercell installed 84 new 4G (LTE) radio stations, the number of which today reaches 2,679 throughout the country," the company said.
The Azercell press service said that the volume of transmitted traffic for 2020 increased 2.25 times compared to previous years.
"The mobile operator installed 4G mobile stations at 14 stations and tunnels of the Baku metro," said the company.
Azercell has 21 customer support centers in the city of Baku, and 36 centers in the districts of the country.
The operator provided more than 12,000 legal entities with the ‘online business’ service, which made it possible to open an online platform for the sale of goods.
In 2020, in order to support its subscribers in roaming, the company encouraged them by transferring 50 manat ($29.4) to the balance of the number. In addition, within seven months, the balance of all medical personnel in Azerbaijan, who is fighting against COVID-19, was replenished in the amount of 50 manat.
Along with this, Azercell has supported over 30,000 employees of the educational sector of our country, providing them with mobile Internet for two months.
