Nearly $2M of physical entities' loans debt written off in Kazakhstan

As of September 5, 2019 some 668.3 million tenge worth of penalty (approximately $1.782 million) has been written off from accounts of 114,849 physical entities following them paying off the main debt worth 2.9 billion tenge, Trend reports with reference to the press office of State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan.

Overall, some 1.4 million people fall within the amnesty, who will be relieved of penalty worth 6.3 billion tenge if they pay the main debt total worth of which is 13.9 billion tenge.

All territorial subdivisions of the committee have issued orders as of August 13-14, 2019 for creation of a committee for penalty write off.

Within the framework of the implementation of the decree of the president dated June 26, 2019 “On measures to reduce the debt burden of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the National Bank, State Credit Bureau JSC, Fund for Problem Loans JSC together with second-tier banks and microfinance organizations decided to write off the fines and penalties on unsecured consumer loans at banks and microfinance organizations for all Kazakhs accumulated by July 1, 2019.
