Uzbekistan is planning to develop business tourism, using the experience of countries such as the UAE and Germany, Uzbek media reported referring to the draft “Tourism development strategy”.
Business tourism in Uzbekistan is currently characterized by active, but at the same time spontaneous development. The lack of reliable statistical information makes it impossible to conduct qualitative analysis of the leading markets for business tourism in Uzbekistan.
This sphere has reached the greatest development in Tashkent and Samarkand, thanks to the availability of infrastructure necessary for conducting business tourism activities and the transport accessibility.
Experts emphasize that in order to use the business tourism potential, Uzbekistan has to create appropriate infrastructure, render effective state support, collect reliable statistical information, conduct training of professional personnel, and to form a favorable image of the country.
Among the main proposed measures is the development of necessary legislative framework, as well as creation of vital business infrastructure for cities, including five-star hotels, modern business centers, up-to-date telecommunications, information services.
The document suggests using experience of leading countries such as the UAE and Germany to implement the mentioned measures and achieve the objectives.
