The first container train from China has arrived in Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.
The train was sent from the Chinese Jinan railway Station, then passed through the Kazakhstan's Khorgos, Altynkol and Bolashak borders and reached Turkmenistan's Gipjak station.
The train route was launched by Turkmenistan Transport and Logistics Center OJSC in partnership with Kazakhstan’s KTZ Express JSC and China’s Xinjiang KTZ International Logistics Co. Ltd.
The cargo delivery includes 44 containers of 40-foot. The container reached the needed station within 15 days. The new train route is expected to open up additional opportunities for trade and economic cooperation between countries and to increase the volume of cargo flows.
The advantage of the new container service for customers is the optimal delivery time of goods from China to Turkmenistan's markets.
Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan OJSC was established in July 2018 in order to increase the opportunities for international transit transport through Turkmenistan's territory, to assist in increasing the volume of transit cargo transportation, as well as to develop logistics solutions for the delivery of transit, import and export cargo from the shipper to the consignee.
