Flights to be launched between Iran’s Gorgan and Kazakhstan’s Aktau cities

The first flight from the Gorgan city in the Golestan Province (northeastern Iran) to the Aktau city in Kazakhstan will take place on April 1, Governor of Golestan Province Hadi Haghshenas said, Trend reports citing the governor office’s website.

He made the remark in a meeting with the Consul General of Kazakhstan in Gorgan city Iydjan Iydashev.

The governor noted that later, the flights between the cities will continue on May 6, June 3, and July 1.

Haghshenas added that efforts are being made to implement these flights on a weekly basis.

“Both sides are working to resolve visa issues, and as the number of passengers increases, these flights are projected to be economically viable,” he said.

The governor stressed that there are no problems with the coronavirus pandemic as health protocols are implemented.

As reported, there are currently 85 flights taking place via Gorgan Airport in Iran per week. The flights are operated from this airport to Tehran, Mashhad, Zahedan, Zabol, Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, Kish, Qeshm, and Asaluyeh airports in Iran and vice versa.
