Iran’s PMO unveils volume of cargo loaded, unloaded in Abadan port

A total of 13,300 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Abadan port of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, this is a decrease of 892 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020). So, 124,000 tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in the port over the preceding Iranian year.

“In addition, 3,000 tons of goods were exported and 7,250 tons were imported through this port last Iranian year. At the same time, 2,780 tons of goods were unloaded in the port for transit and 235 tons for other purposes last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

So, 5,540 tons of essential products, 271 tons of metal products, 6,150 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 3 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Abadan port last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, moreover, 1,050 tons of leather goods, clothing, fiber, paper and wood materials, 304 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in the port.

Reportedly, a total of 123 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 18.1 percent compared to the preceding year. So, 150 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the preceding year.
