Cargo transportation from Iran's Khuzestan Province increases

The cargo transportation from the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) increased by 17 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Director of the road and transport department of Iran's Khuzestan Province, Alireza Eynollahzadeh said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

The director emphasized that 3 million tons of cargo were transported from Khuzestan Province in the first month.

Eynollahzadeh about 227,000 tons of cargo were transshipped through the province's border terminals in the month.

“So, about 153,000 tons of cargo were transshipped from the Chazabeh border terminal by 6,520 trucks,” he said.

In addition, 74,500 tons of cargo were transshipped from the Shalamcheh border terminal by 2,980 trucks," he said.

As reported, 42.3 million tons of cargo were transported from Iran's Khuzestan Province over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021) transported. The cargo transportation increased by 1 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 19, 2020).
