In July 2021, the number of car sales contracts among the population of Uzbekistan showed a significant decrease by 23.8 percent compared to June of this year, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

According to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) report, sales in the car market increased by 16.2 percent compared to July 2020.

At the same time, when comparing July indicators with last year's, it can be concluded that the current restrictive measures caused by the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the country turned out to be not so tough, in contrast to July last year, when a lockdown was in effect throughout the country, and it was the current measures that made it possible to avoid a sharp falling demand.

During the reporting period, the number of registered and re-registered cars decreased at a moderate pace in all regions (except for the Jizzakh region). The largest decline was recorded in Tashkent (55.8 percent), Kashkadarya (24.7 percent), Navoi (19 percent) and Fergana (17 percent) regions.

It is reported that in July 2021, 17,000 new cars were registered, of which 454 (2.7 percent) are foreign cars.

In general, in 7M2021, 111,800 new cars were sold throughout the country, including 5,100 foreign cars.
