BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 9. Last week it became known that a freight train on the China-Germany route was sent from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan via the 'Maestro Niyazi' dry cargo ship Maestro Niyazi, Trend reports.
The train left Chinese Xian for Germany’s Mannheim and after arriving at port of Hovsan in Azerbaijan’s Baku, it will go to Georgian port of Poti, and then to Europe via Black Sea.
Last week it was also reported about unscheduled work on diagnostics and repair of Gilavar research - survey vessel, also on its preparation for further operation.
It also became known that "Zarifa Aliyeva" ferry went on its first voyage in direction of Kazakh port of Kuryk. The vessel transports 37 heavy vehicles (TIR), one truck and 20 cars. This vessel can carry 100 passengers, 56 rail tank cars or 50 trucks (TIR).
In addition, it became known that within the framework of a new Asian Development Bank (ADB) technical assistance project for Georgia, the average time for transporting goods from Georgian port of Batumi to the border with Azerbaijan will be reduced by four hours.
