BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. About 5 million tons of goods were transited through Iran, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022), Director General of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Alireza Moghaddasi told IRIB, Trend reports.

“At present, corridors are active in all directions for transit of goods through Iran. Examples of these corridors are the North-South and East-West corridors,” Moghaddasi said.

The director general added that Bazargan and Dogharoon border checkpoints are the largest land border checkpoints in Iran for transit of goods.

According to him, the value of Iran's non-oil exports for 4 months amounted to more than $17 billion.

Iran's non-oil products, including methanol, petrochemical products, propylene, polyethylene products and vegetables were mainly exported to Iraq and other neighboring countries, along with China.

In general, Iran's non-oil trade turnover for 4 months amounted to 46.8 million tons worth $34.4 billion, which is an increase of 19 percent in value compared to the same period last year.

Over 4 months, Iran exported 35.6 million tons of non-oil products worth $17.2 billion, while imported 11.2 million tons worth $17.2 billion.
