BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. Cargo transit through Iran’s Bilasuvar border terminal in the Ardabil Province (north-western Iran), increased by 53 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of the Road and Transport Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Vosughi noted that in total, about 747,000 tons of cargo were transited through the mentioned border terminal in 8 months.

He added that transited goods were mainly rice, various construction materials, mineral water, etc.

“In addition, about 304,000 tons of goods were exported through the Bilasuvar border terminal in 8 months, which is an increase of 78 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. The exported goods were mainly ceramics, construction materials, salt, glass, and profiles and transported by 13,761 trucks,” he said.

As for imports through the Bilasuvar border terminal, Vosughi pointed out that about 9,500 tons of goods by 465 trucks were imported via the mentioned border terminal in 8 months, which is an increase of 3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
