BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 8. The number of TEU containers loaded and unloaded at the west ports of Iran’s Hormozgan Province in the south of the country, increased by 72 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, an official of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
“Within 9 months, a total of 103,295 TEU containers were loaded and unloaded at the west ports of the Hormozgan Province. There were 1.1 million tons of cargo in the loaded and unloaded containers,” Salari said.
The official added that 550,363 tons of goods in 51,647 TEU containers were exported from the west ports of Hormozgan Province in nine months, which is an increase of 36 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Salari emphasized that among the province’s west ports, the Bandar Lengeh port was the most active port.
