BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. AsstrA transport and logistics company's plan includes increasing the client portfolio at the expense of promising, actively developing Azerbaijani companies, the manager of AsstrA's branch in Azerbaijan, Emin Isayev told Trend.
Isaev noted that the opening of the company's office in Azerbaijan was not only expected but also strategically important for the company.

According to him, this step confirms AsstrA's strategic vision and its intention to continue providing high-quality logistics solutions in new regions of the world.
"Analyzing the first half of the year in the Azerbaijani market, two industries, with which we work most actively, can be distinguished. This is the food industry (41 percent), we have big plans for the development of this particular area in the region; household and personal goods (20.54 percent). We also regularly cooperate with the pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, and metallurgy, and in the future, we plan to develop electronics supplies,” he said.
“Imports from Poland, the Netherlands and Romania accounted for the biggest import share, which indicates the interest of European suppliers in the Azerbaijani market. On the other hand, the largest number of export shipments were carried out for customers in the following directions - Austria, Russia and Belgium. The development of domestic transportation also plays an important role in strengthening the new market. Domestic traffic currently amounted to 15 percent of the total volume of traffic," he said.
The company intends to enter the top 10 logistics providers in Europe in terms of turnover.
In general, cargo transportation by all modes of transport in Azerbaijan amounted to 166.9 million tons from January through September 2023, which is 5.9 percent higher than in the same period of 2022. Passenger traffic in Azerbaijan exceeded 1.4 billion people in the reporting period, which is 17.1 percent higher than in the same period in 2022.
