Kazakhstan has asked Kyrgyzstan to assist with resolution of the problem with people hired to carry goods through the border crossing point Ak-Jol on the border with Kazakhstan, Mirlan Mukhanbetov, Vice Chairman of the Customs Control of Kazakhstan's Finance Ministry, told the meeting of the intergovernmental committee, on Thursday, CA-News reported.

He said the goods carriers are not entrepreneurs and tourists, these are people hired to provide services to entrepreneurs. "We have asked Kyrgyz colleagues to resolve this problem collaboratively, particularly, we ask to remove a storehouse used by these contracted cargo carriers," he said.

He said the actions were taken on the whole so far to unload intensity of border crossing. "We slightly stopped the flow of goods bearers, but this is a temporary measure," he said.

Kazakhstan intends to increase the number of lanes up to 10 on the border crossing point Ak-Jol, said Serik Bekzhanov, Deputy Director of the Border Service of Kazakhstan.

He promised the infrastructure on the border crossing point will be improved. Bekzhanov also promised that the green corridor for people carrying no goods will be opened.

Serik Bekzhanov asked to remove the storehouse near Korday which is used by hired carriers of cargoes too, reported Tazabek.
