Kazakhstan Materials 26 July 2012 15:13 (UTC +04:00)

About 2,000 people for two hours stopped their work at LLP "Burgylau" in Kazakh city of Zhanaozen, CA-NEWS reported with the reference to the press service of social action.

According to the press service, they gathered on the premises to demand the release of their comrades, who are imprisoned, before the next meeting of the Regional Court to consider the appeal of convicted members and leaders of oil strike.

Earlier, this company had a long bitter strike in April 2009, which was first to sound a slogan of nationalizing the oil industry under the control of labor collectives.

On July 24, workers of "Munay FildServis" stopped work with a demand to stop the layoffs, which were submitted as sending in a "vacation" without content, the press service added.
The conflict began to flare up since last Friday, July 20, when the working committee demanded an explanation from the administration. After fruitless negotiations, the opposition (600-700 people) went on strike and rally.

Bosses from "Ozenmunaygaz" and city administration arrive on the place and satisfied the requirement to stop layoffs of workers, so the work was resumed.

A regional court is now considering an appeal in the case of 37 oil workers, 13 of whom were sentenced to imprisonment from 3 to 7 years.
