Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will pay an official visit to Russia on October 9, Nazarbayev said in an interview with Russian "First Channel", CA-NEWS reported.
Within the visit Nazarbayev will discuss the issues of Customs Union functioning.
Nazarbayev added that Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are also working on the possibility of joining the Customs Union, however, this issue is quite complicated.
"We have created a supranational body. Any state that wishes to join this organization can do it, since our organization is open, but this country will have to run the road we have traveled," Nazarbayev said.
The Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus has been operating since 2010. It aims at forming a single customs zone where no duties or economic restrictions are applied, except special protective, antidumping and compensatory measures. The Common Economic Space within the Customs Union started to operate from Jan.1, 2012.
