U.S. Under Secretary for Political Affairs Wendy R. Sherman is traveling to Astana and Bishkek beginning on November 24, 2012, U.S Department of State's official website reported.
According to the report, in Astana, Kazakhstan, the Under Secretary will deliver remarks at Eurasian University on U.S. support for the New Silk Road vision, as well as meet with Kazakh officials to affirm the country's strategic partnership with the Republic of Kazakhstan and underscore the importance that U.S. places on the government's stated commitment to greater openness and democracy.
In Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, the Under Secretary will meet with government officials and parliamentarians, as well as representatives from civil society groups focused on democracy and good governance, the report says.
