Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has received Shell chief executive officer Peter Voser, Ak Orda said today.
The parties have discussed the cooperation prospects in the oil and gas industry between Kazakhstan and the company.
The president stressed that "Shell" is one of the most significant investors of the oil and gas sector of the republic.
"The concern is Kazakhstan's important partner in the development of a number of oil and gas fields, the largest of which is Kashagan," Nazarbayev said. "We must discuss the further development of this field and the prospects of the company in the country."
Voser thanked for the meeting and said that this is his first visit to Astana.
"Today, our company successfully works in Kazakhstan and we look forward to further mutually beneficial cooperation," he said.
Voser also congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Kazakh people with great success - providing Astana with a right to host the international exhibition "EXPO-2017".
"Shell" is an international concern that combines various energy and petrochemical companies. The company is also a major investor in the Kazakh oil and gas industry.
