The project on Lomonosov iron ore deposit development will be implemented in Kazakh Kostanay region, Kazinform reported with the reference to regional authorities' press-service.
The issue of attracting investments to the project was discussed at the meeting of Kostanay region Head Nuraly Saduakasov with the heads of Kazahminerals company and Socio-Entrepreneurial Corporation Tobol.
Lomonosov iron ore deposit is located 20 km from the city of Rudny in Kostanai region. Its reserves are estimated at 77.240 million tons in C1 category and at 34.648 million tons in C2.
The planned project envisages complete exploration of reserves, annual production of 23.1 million tones ore and construction of mining and processing plant. The project is developed by Lomonosovskoye company with participation of the Austrian party. Canadian company KazahMinerals is the investment partner of the project.
The meeting participants expressed common interest in the successful launch and implementation of the project.
