Official dealers sold 116,094 new cars in Kazakhstan in January-September 2013 compared to 65,615 cars sold in the same period of 2012, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to the Kazakhstan Auto Business Association.
As many as 91,277 cars or 78.6 per cent of cars sold in Kazakhstan in the reporting period had been imported from abroad, 24, 817 cars, or 21.4 per cent had been assembled within the country.
The share of Russian car sales increased by 0.9 per cent to 51.7 per cent, Uzbekistan increased its share by one per cent to 8.8 per cent. Japanese manufacturers with an 8.5 per cent share rank third in the sales chart in Kazakhstan.
The top three best sellers in this period were Lada (40,444 sold cars or 35 per cent of all sales), Uz-Daewoo and KIA.
