In 2013, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Canada stood at almost $3 billion.
This information was provided at a meeting between Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov and a delegation of the Canadian parliament, which is visiting Kazakhstan, Kazakh Foreign Ministry said Sept. 10.
"The parties underscored positive trends in the Kazakh-Canadian trade and economic cooperation, and investment partnership," the ministry said.
During the meeting, the parties mulled the issues of bilateral cooperation in various areas, and special attention was paid to the developing interparliamentary dialogue through the organization known as the Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (PNND).
The delegation was led by the Kazakhstan-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group's Co-chair, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Natural Resources of Canadian House of Commons Leon Benoit.
It also included the representatives of both houses of the Canadian parliament and all the major federal political parties in Canada.
Canada is the main trading partner of Kazakhstan among the states in both North and South Americas.
