Twelve railway carriages derailed in Kazakhstan on Jan. 6, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakh Railways) reported on Jan. 7.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

The carriages of the freight train No 2007 derailed at Zhambyl - Tulkubas section of the Zhambyl road.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy created a special commission to examine the incident.

According to preliminary information, the commission found that the carriages derailed because a trolley of one of the carriages had not turned on a curved section of the railway. The owner of the carriage is Russian Federal Freight company.

Train traffic on this site was temporarily closed and renewed on Jan.7, following clean up measures. A total number of 16 passenger trains were delayed due to the incident.

All the delayed trains will depart on January 7. All passengers traveling in the delayed trains will receive compensation in accordance with the law.
