Kazakhstan to allocate nearly $712M for economic growth

Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the government to allocate additional 240 billion Kazakh tenges (nearly $712 million) in the second half of 2016 to stimulate the economic growth, said the president's press service June 14.

Resources allocated from the state budget will be used to support small and medium-sized businesses, lending and implementation of programs of individual housing construction.

Meanwhile, financial resources will be allocated for the implementation of a number of infrastructure projects, as well as increasing the life quality in rural areas, completion of the ferry crossing at the Kuryk port and modernization of Astana airport.

It is expected that the effect of these measures will additionally be 0.4 percent to the planned growth of Kazakhstan's economy in 2016.
