National Bank of Kazakhstan deprives 2 banks' licenses

The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) has deprived Eximbank Kazakhstan JSC and Qazaq Banki JSC of licenses to conduct banking and other operations and activities in the securities market, the press service of the financial regulator reported.

Eximbank Kazakhstan JSC was deprived of its license for systematic violation of prudential norms and regulatory acts, as well as non-compliance of its major shareholder with the requirements on additional capitalization.

Qazaq Banki JSC was deprived of its license for systematic improper performance of contractual obligations on payment and transfer operations and systematic violation of prudential norms and other mandatory rules.

The National Bank of Kazakhstan will apply to the court for the forced suspension of activity (liquidation) of the banks in accordance with the law.

The two banks are participants of the system of obligatory insurance of deposits of individuals, therefore, the depositors will be paid the guaranteed compensations.
