Trend:

A delegation of an Uzbek bank arrived in Astana in order to develop business contacts and to study the Kazakh experience, Kazinform reported.

Ulf Vokurka, Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Tsesnabank JSC, and Abdurakhmon Sherov, Acting First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbek Agrobank JSCB, signed a memorandum of understanding, which confirms the parties' intention to develop cooperation and continue the exchange of experience and knowledge.

Vokurka noted that Tsesnabank and Agrobank have commensurate market positions within their countries, therefore, the cooperation and dialogue are of interest to both parties.

Taking into account the orientation of the two banks to agriculture, it is expected that with the development of strategic partnership, the banks will have clients working both in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

“We will be able to serve them across the border. The cross-border cooperation has begun to emerge from our meeting today. We have signed a memorandum of cooperation, which states that in the near future we will consider establishing correspondent relations. We can serve payments in tenge, and Agrobank can serve all payments in soums in Uzbekistan,” Vokurka explained.

The Acting First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Agrobank JSCB Abdurakhmon Sherov noted the importance of signing of the memorandum for further development of cooperation between the two countries.

The return visit of a Tsesnabank delegation to Uzbekistan is expected to take place by the end of the year, during which the strategic dialogue between the two banks will be continued.
