Kazakh ministry announces building of agro-machinery production plant in North Kazakhstan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr.5

Trend:

A new plant will be built in the North Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports via Kazinform.

According to the country’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, the plant will initially establish production of the TUCANO harvester, including the installation of specialized equipment, and the training of respective technical personnel.

The project will be implemented jointly with the ST-Agro company, the official representative of German CLAAS in Kazakhstan. The investments in the region’s economy will amount to nearly 3.4 billion tenge ($8 million), and the source of financing will be the German company's own funds. At the initial stage, about 200 new jobs will be opened.

Under the agreement for the project's implementation, the company will gradually increase the localization of components, as well as engage in technical training for further development of the production.

Upon reaching the design capacity, the enterprise will produce up to 300 units of agricultural machinery (harvesters, tractors and seeding complexes) per year, which will qualitatively improve the situation with the renewal of the machine and tractor fleet in Kazakhstan.
