Russia’s Sberbank CIB (Corporate and Investment Bank) and Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) have agreed on joint projects in the field of business digitalization, Trend reports citing ERG.
The document was signed by Andrey Shemetov, Senior Vice President, Head of Sberbank, and Benedikt Sobotka, Chief Executive Officer of the Eurasian Resources Group.
The agreement provides for cooperation in a number of areas:
- creation and development of IT architecture;
- development, implementation, adaptation, scaling of solutions for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT);
- joint development and implementation of processes in terms of HR services;
- ensuring cybersecurity.
Shemetov said that the key to the company's success in the modern world is flexibility, prompt response to customer requests and changes in the external environment, and even anticipating them.
“New technologies and the digital environment help support these competencies. Sberbank is one of the technological leaders in Russia and the CIS. One of our missions is to help our clients become successful, and we are ready to share with them the most advanced developments, to facilitate their implementation and functioning in the company. Within the framework of the signed memorandum, together with our long-term partner - the ERG group - we will develop innovative and technological solutions. I am sure that our cooperation with the group in this direction will be fruitful and long-term,” said the Sberbank head.
“In recent years, we have already made great strides in the use of digital solutions, becoming one of the leaders in this area in the mining and metallurgical industry. Digitalization is also of great importance for the regions where ERG operates,” the CEO of the ERG noted.
“In Kazakhstan, we are developing smart factories and, thanks to modern technologies, we are increasing the reliability and environmental friendliness of our business. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, technologies such as blockchain contribute to the ability to track the movement of produced material as a whole along the value chain and transparency, as well as prevent the use of child labor,” Sobotka said.
According to the ERG CEO said, the ‘Battery Passport’ project, which the company is developing in cooperation with the Global Battery Alliance, offers a solution to formalize those products that are manufactured in accordance with ethical business principles.
“Sber is one of the world leaders in the digital sphere, from whom you can learn a lot, and we are glad that we are thinking and moving in the same direction, that the company's projects and initiatives, our digitalization strategy receive reciprocal interest and support from our long-term strategic partner,” Sobotka added.
