Kazakhstan's economy to grow faster than in other EAEU states - EDB expectations

The highest dynamics of economic growth among the EAEU states is expected in Kazakhstan, according to the experts of Eurasian Development Bank (EBD) Chairman of the EBD Management Board Nikolai Podguzov said, Trend reports citing the press service of Kazakhstan’s President.

Podguzov made the statement during the talks with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

In the course of the meeting, Tokayev was informed about the results of the work on medium-term plans of the EBD, as well as about the macroeconomic forecasts for the coming period.

Podguzov informed the Kazakh president about the EDB's main strategic directions for 2022-2026.

The bank intends to assist in the implementation of projects aimed at the creation of transport corridors ‘North - South’, ‘Europe - Western China’, the creation of a single distribution network and the renovation of the water and energy complex of Central Asia.

The total investments of the EDB in these projects are planned at $1.2 billion.

In general, the bank intends to invest at least $3.8 billion in the economy of Kazakhstan until 2026.
