A grand opening ceremony of a plant for the production and processing of sheet glass was held in Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda city, Trend reports referring to the Kazakh media.
The project is being implemented by China Glass Int through the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KAZAKH INVEST JSC, as well as the city administration of Kyzylorda.
The total amount of investments in the Kazakh economy reached 43.7 billion tenge ($100.1 million).
About 220 jobs are expected to be created at the plant. After reaching full capacity (more than 197,000 tons of sheet glass per year or 600 tons of glass per day), it is planned to export sheet glass to the Central Asian countries, the Russian Federation, as well as China.
KAZAKH INVEST JSC rendered comprehensive assistance in obtaining appropriate measures of state support, attracting foreign workers, as well as in holding talks with the interested state structures as part of this project.
