Kazakhstan’s Finance Minister Yerulan Zhamaubayev spoke about the consequences of strengthening the administration on the border with China, Trend reports citing the government.
"Due to strengthening of administration on the border with China, import of goods from China is redirected to Kyrgyzstan. Since the beginning of this year, Chinese imports to Kyrgyzstan have grown by five times and imports from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan - by 2.5 times," Zhamaubayev said at the governmental meeting.
Besides, according to him, nearly 900 vehicles now expect an easing of administration on the border with China, and 1,200 - in temporary storage warehouses.
"Since the beginning of the year, receipts of customs payments and taxes at border posts have been reduced by 23 percent, and the volume - by 26 percent," added the minister.
