BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Implementation of 21 flagship projects is planned in the engineering industry, Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev said at a government meeting, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.
“The main areas are implementation of import substitution projects with the potential to replace imports by 130 billion tenge ($290.1 million) and the implementation of export-oriented projects with the potential to increase exports by $622 million. Particular work is also underway on oil and gas engineering,” Uskenbayev said.
Some 18 flagship projects are planned to be implemented in the chemical industry by 2025.
“Launch of such projects involves the production of sodium carbonate (soda ash), polypropylene, sodium cyanide, and mineral fertilizers, which are aimed not only at the local market but also for export,” the minister added.
