BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Kazakhstan's vision to achieve carbon neutrality will result in an integrated coal processing in the country, Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Development Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Turar Zholmagambetov said at the 3rd Forum of the coal industry, Trend reports citing the Kazakh media.
"Over the past heating season, a lot of work has been done to supply the population and domestic households with coal. The work was certainly carried out through effective production management, thereby providing consumers with the required coal quantity. Social partnership in the coal industry is a priority for our ministry," stated Zholmagambetov.
He talked about the ministry's permanent sectoral commission on social partnership, where problematic issues of coal industry enterprises are considered, and where the companies share positive experiences in creating safe working conditions and reducing industrial injuries. Moreover, the commission addresses social projects, personnel issues, and other cases.
"Kazakhstan is supposed to implement the projects on integrated coal processing and develop the coal chemical industry in order to reach the country's carbon neutrality. These activities can significantly affect the efficient use of Kazakhstan's coal potential and increase the role of coal by improving the environment. It's necessary to revise the development strategy for obtaining liquid and gaseous fuels from coal. Thus, the ministry is ready to support the deeply integrated coal processing to obtain products with high added value," the ministry's representative added.
