BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. Kazakhstan has ranked first among the countries of Central Asia in terms of mobile internet speed, Trend reports via ranking.kz.

The cost of mobile internet in Kazakhstan has remained among the lowest ones in the world. According to the latest Internet Accessibility Index rating for 2022, Kazakhstan took 8th place in terms of the lowest internet tariffs - only 8 cents for one GB of mobile data. Moreover, tariffs in the country have declined: a year earlier, the figure was 9 cents.

Analysts also noted the high level of mobile internet coverage in Kazakhstan (96 percent).

The Internet Accessibility Index report noted that Kazakhstan's telecommunications sector is one of the most advanced sectors in Central Asia.

According to Speedtest.net, the median speed of mobile internet in Kazakhstan grew by 24.8 percent in April this year, from 16.59 to 20.7 Mbps.

Kazakhstan is the leader among the Central Asian countries in terms of mobile internet speed. In Kyrgyzstan, this figure amounted to 19.4 Mbps, in Uzbekistan - 13.67 Mbps, in Tajikistan - 7.84 Mbps, and in Turkmenistan - only 3.31 Mbps.
