BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. The monthly inflation rate in Kazakhstan was 1.6 percent, while the annual inflation rate made up 18.8 percent in October 2022, Trend reports citing the country's Committee on Statistics.
In the reporting month, prices of non-food items and paid services grew by 1.7 percent each, whereas food product prices increased by 1.4 percent month over month.
Among non-food items, prices for detergents and other cleaning products went up the most (by 5 percent). Meantime, prices of clothing, footwear, personal goods, and household goods rose by 2.1 percent, dishes – by 1.9 percent, textiles – by 1.7 percent, coal – by 2.1 percent, and firewood – by 1.7 percent.
Furthermore, the cost of hotel services grew by 6 percent, organization of package holidays – by 4 percent, services in the field of recreation and sports events – by 3.3 percent, baths – by 3 percent, children's development centers – by 2.9 percent, and public catering – by 2.2 percent.
As for food products, tomato prices went up by 21 percent, cucumbers – by 14.7 percent, eggs – by 6.3 percent, fish and seafood – by 2.3 percent, bakery and flour products – by 2.2 percent, soft drinks – by 1.9 percent, cheese and cottage cheese – by 1.8 percent.
Nevertheless, carrots dropped in price by 5.6 percent, beets – by 5.5 percent, onions – by 5.1 percent, potatoes – by 3.5 percent, and cabbage – by 2.6 percent. The price of granulated sugar decreased by 2.3 percent.
