BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. Kazakshtan’s “Air Astana” intends to resume direct flights between Astana and Beijing, Trend reports, citing the Central Communications Service under the President.

The flights between the two capitals will be carried out three times a week. Departures are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

А-321 LR aircraft will be used to perform the flights between the two cities.

Additionally, starting from 13 February, “Air Astana” will gradually increase the number of flights between Almaty and Beijing from the current one flight per week on Mondays, to five. The new schedule includes flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The number of weekly flights during spring-summer will reach a total of seven.

The expansion is being undertaken as a part of the transportation strategy of the government of Kazakhstan, which aims to establish new routes to foster business, cargo transportation, and tourism. By increasing the volume of flights with China, Kazakhstan aims to stimulate the inflow of Chinese tourists to the country, thanks to a possibility of a 14-days long visa-free entry for Chinese nationals.
