Kazakhstan's imports from Azerbaijan rise to new level

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 6. The value of imports from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan has reached $86.6 million in 2022, increasing by a record-breaking 95 percent, compared to 2021, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic planning and reforms of Kazakhstan, informs, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.

According to the Bureau, during the reporting period, imports from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan have grown due to an increase in supply of the following products: sugar – an increase by 147.2 tons or $11.4 million, cruise facilities for sightseeing, ferryboats and other means of passenger transportation – an increase by $8.4 million, pipes made of ferrous metal – an increase by $7.7 million.

Meanwhile, imports from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan dropped in propylene polymers – by 35.4 percent or $5.4 million, ethylene polymers – by 54.3 percent or $3.6 million, nuts – by 29.6 percent or $1.1 million. While, geodetic or topographic instruments were not imported at all.

The value of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan reached $461.9 million in 2022 - a 39-percent growth, compared to 2021.

According to the official data, the value of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover from January through November 2022 totaled $122.2 billion, which is by 33.4 percent more than in 2021.

Exports from Kazakhstan in this period totaled $77.6 billion, which is a 42.4-percent increase, compared to 2021. At the same time, the value of imports from Kazakhstan grew up by 20.1 percent and made up $44.6 billion.
