BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 24. Kazakhstan expects to increase the export of innovative information and communication technologies (ICT) to 84 billion Kazakh tenge ($186.99 million) in 2023, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan.

This would mean a two-fold growth from 42 billion Kazakh tenge ($93.49 million) achieved in 2022.

The growth of the ICT sector exports is outlined in the new government plan, which will run through 2027.

Kazakhstan aims to continue this trend going forward. ICT production exports are projected to reach 147 billion Kazakh tenge ($327.23 million) in 2024. Another dramatic increase is expected to be recorded in 2025, with the Ministry expecting exports of this category of goods to reach 210 billion Kazakh tenge ($467.47 million).

The volume of exports will further increase to 230 billion Kazakh tenge ($511.99 million) and 240 billion Kazakh tenge ($534.25 million) in 2026 and 2027 respectively.

The new strategy intends to transform Kazakhstan into a regional innovation powerhouse and diversify the economy by unlocking the previously unexplored potential. Additionally, the government plan aims to improve information security, personal data protection, and increase the efficiency of the high-technology industry.
