BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. The Netherlands ranked first among the main investors in Kazakhstan's economy in 2022 with $8.3 billion of FDIs attracted, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

At the same time, the investment flow from the Netherlands over the past year increased by 18.5 percent year-on-year ($7 billion in 2021).

Furthermore, the US, following after the Netherlands, invested $5.1 billion in Kazakhstan in the reporting period, which is an increase of 82.1 percent, compared to $2.8 billion in 2021.

Switzerland round off the top 3 investors in Kazakh economy in 2022 with $2.8 billion (up by 7.6 percent from $2.6 billion in 2021).

TOP-10 countries for FDIs in Kazakhstan in 2022:

1. the Netherlands - $8.3 billion (up by 18.5 percent);

2. the US - $5.1 billion (up by 82.1 percent);

3. Switzerland - $2.8 billion (up by 7.6 percent);

4. Belgium - $1.6 billion (up by 50.9 percent);

5. Russia - $1.5 billion (down by 21 percent);

6. South Korea - $1.5 billion (up by 98.6 percent);

7. China - $1.4 billion (down by 22.2 percent);

8. France - $770 million (up by 27.6 percent);

9. the UK - $661 million (down by 35.1 percent);

10. Germany - $469.5 million (no data).

The gross foreign direct investments (FDIs) in Kazakhstan in 2022 reached $28 billion, which is an increase of 17.7 percent year-on-year ($23.8 billion in 2021).

At the same time, the FDIs in Kazakhstan in 2022 reached a record-high over the last 10 years ($28.9 billion in 2012)
