BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. Industrial production increased by 3.5 percent from January through April 2023 in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
According to Kazakhstan's Bureau of National Statistics, the total value of industrial output reached 15.1 trillion Kazakh tenge ($33.7 billion), with the mining sector contributing 7.07 trillion Kazakh tenge or $15.8 billion (46.8 percent of the overall volume), and the manufacturing sector accounting for 6.9 trillion Kazakh tenge or $15.4 billion (45.8 percent).
The growth in production was observed across various sectors. The mining industry and quarry development recorded a 2 percent increase, while the manufacturing industry saw a significant rise of 5.1 percent. The supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and conditioned air also increased by 5.9 percent. Additionally, waste collection, processing, and disposal, as well as pollution elimination activities, grew by 7.4 percent.
Furthermore, the production of food products rose by 7.7 percent, while petroleum refining products increased by 3.7 percent. The manufacturing of rubber and plastic products recorded a substantial surge of 8.1 percent, while the production of finished metal goods (excluding machinery and equipment) grew by 15.8 percent. The machinery industry recorded the highest growth rate of 35.9 percent.
These positive developments in Kazakhstan's industrial sector indicate a steady upward trend in production across various industries, fostering economic growth and indicating the country's resilience in the face of challenges.
