Kazakhstan set to embark on multitude new projects in coming years

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 20. A total of 878 projects with a cumulative expected investment volume of 30 trillion Kazakh tenge ($67.5 billion) are going to be implemented in Kazakhstan, Ardak Zebeshev, Chairman of the Committee for Investments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said at a press conference, Trend reports.

According to the official, as a result of the implementation of these projects, over 147,000 new job places will be created.

Zebeshev noted that some projects to be carried out in the non-raw materials sector are expected to attract more than 500 million tenge ($1.1 million)

"In terms of regions, Aktobe , Atyrau , and the city of Astana lead in the volume of investments in projects. In terms of the number of projects, Astana, Akmola region, and the city of Shymkent are in the forefront," the speaker said.

Moreover, by the end of the year, 281 projects are scheduled to be launched. As of today, 28 projects have been implemented since year-start, creating over 1,500 job opportunities.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan observed a new record-high in foreign direct investments (FDIs) flow in 2022. With the volume of FDIs totaling $28 billion over the past year, Kazakhstan remains an attractive destination for FDIs and leads in their inflow in the whole Central Asian region.
