ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 20. Russia will boost its annual bitumen supplies to Kazakhstan from 100,000 to 300,000 tons, Trend reports.

This decision comes following a meeting between Erlan Akkenzhenov, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, and Pavel Sorokin, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to amend the protocol between the Ministries of Energy of Russia and Kazakhstan regarding the list of petroleum products prohibited or restricted for export from Russia to Kazakhstan and vice versa, within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union's customs territory, dated May 6, 2019.

Apart from the increased bitumen supplies, the two countries also discussed further areas of collaboration in the oil sector during the meeting.
