BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 28. The main customers for European machinery in Kazakhstan are producers in the gas and oil industries as well as in the fields of petrochemicals, agriculture, food and packaging, mining, construction, and building materials, a source at VDMA, Germany's Mechanical Engineering Industry Association, told Trend.
According to the source, in the Caspian region, Kazakhstan is the most important market for VDMA members.
"In 2022, Kazakhstan was still in 47th place among the top export markets for German mechanical engineering. This year, we are registering significant growth, especially in agricultural machinery and food and packaging machinery," said the source.
Additionally, VDMA is also helping its members enter the Kazakh market.
"We accompany our members into the Kazakh market via market information events, diverse trade fair participations in Kazakhstan (German Pavilion), and delegation trips. We cooperate with and maintain very good contacts with the Association of Kazakh Mechanical Engineering Companies. A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed in Astana in 2017 on the fringes of EXPO 2017," the source noted.
With 3,600 members, the VDMA [Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V.] is the largest network organization and an important mouthpiece of the mechanical engineering industry in Germany and Europe. The association represents the common economic, technical, and scientific interests of this diverse industry.
