ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 23. Chairman of the Board of the National Welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Zhakupov has met with the Managing Director of ExxonMobil in Kazakhstan Cecile Rollin, Trend reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of implementation of the Tengiz and North Caspian projects and issues of operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. The prospects for developing cooperation in the gas industry with QazaqGaz (the national gas company of Kazakhstan) were also discussed.
"ExxonMobil is our long-time reliable partner and one of the largest investors in the country's oil and gas industry. The "Samruk-Kazyna" Foundation highly appreciates ExxonMobil's contribution and expresses its commitment to further strengthening cooperation," Nurlan Zhakupov said.
ExxonMobil is a major international oil and gas company with a leading position in the energy and petrochemical industries. The company began its activities in Kazakhstan in 1993, becoming one of the first major investors in oil projects in the country.
The company owns: 25 percent of participation shares in Tengizchevroil LLP, which is developing the Tengiz field; 16.81 percent within the framework of the Production Sharing Agreement for the Northern Caspian Sea (NPSA), which includes the Kashagan field; and 7.5 percent in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
