ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 27. Kazakhstan will study Israeli experience in developing the agro-industrial complex and water resources management, Trend reports.

This was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, and Chairman of the Israel-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Michael Rohe.

During the meeting, issues of increasing the efficiency of irrigation, water conservation, introducing modern drip irrigation technologies, developing agricultural science, as well as applying new approaches in livestock farming, milk production and poultry farming were discussed in detail.

Smailov noted that the government of Kazakhstan attaches great importance to expanding partnerships and strengthening multifaceted mutually beneficial relations with Israel. In particular, the country's outstanding achievements in the field of agriculture are of interest.

"We are open to studying Israeli technologies and ready to attract them to give impetus to the development of the agro-industrial complex. Issues of irrigation and water conservation are also very relevant," he said.

In turn, Michael Rohe noted that Kazakhstan has the potential to fully cover the needs of the domestic market and, with the help of an integrated approach to the development of the agricultural sector, can make an extremely large contribution to ensuring global food security.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize an exchange of experience and joint work on all the issues raised in the very near future.
