ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 6. Kazakhstan's farmers have harvested 12.6 million hectares of grain, or 72.7 percent, to date, Trend reports.
This was stated at a meeting of the Operational Headquarters chaired by Vice Minister of Agriculture Abulkhair Tamabek.
As Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture Murat Irgebayev said, the average yield is 9.3 c/ha; at this stage, 11.7 million tons of grain have been threshed.
According to him, oilseeds were harvested at 352,700 tons, potatoes at 2.1 million tons, vegetables at 3.2 million tons, and melons at about 2.8 million tons.
Irgebayev noted that the first priority is filling the seeds for next year's harvest. With a plan of 1.9 million tons of grain seeds, 935,500 hectares were covered.
He noted that, taking into account the current situation, agricultural producers have been allocated additional volumes of preferential diesel fuel for drying grain and oilseeds at a price of 250 tenge per liter. According to the plan, about 62,500 tons of diesel fuel will be shipped from the refinery.
For the first five months of 2023, exports of agricultural products from Kazakhstan amounted to $2.3 billion, which is 5.6 percent higher than the same period last year.
The share of processed products in total exports amounted to 40 percent.
At the end of the first half of 2023, the volume of gross agricultural output increased by 3.2 percent to 2.1 trillion tenge (about $4.4 billion).
