ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 15. The volume of foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan amounted to $139.8 billion from January through December 2023, Trend reports.
According to figures from the country's Bureau of National Statistics, this is 3.2 percent higher than in the same period in 2022.
Exports totaled $78.6 billion (in nominal terms, 7 percent less than the same time in 2022).
At the same time, imports grew by 20.1 percent, totaling $61.1 billion.
The country's foreign trade turnover in 2022 totaled $134.4 billion. The trade surplus was $34.3 billion, an 82 percent increase over 2021 and four times that of 2020.
Export volumes totaled $84.4 billion. By 2021, foreign sales volumes had climbed by 40%, and by 2020, by 78 percent. While import volumes to Kazakhstan reached $50 billion for the first time, updating the 2013 record ($48.8 billion).
