The amount of customs duties and taxes received by the budget of Kazakhstan amounted to 4.081 trillion tenge (about $9.07 billion) in 2023, Yeldos Saudabayev, Director of the Customs Control Department of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
"At the end of 2023, customs payments and taxes in the amount of 4.081 billion tenge were received. Compared to 2021, the growth rate of revenues increased by 78 percent, and compared to 2022, the increase was 18 percent," he said.
According to him, last year, the amount of customs payments and taxes excluding export customs duties amounted to 2.401 trillion tenge (about $5.33 billion). The growth rate of revenues compared to 2021 was 92 percent, and compared to 2022, the growth was 34 percent. Due to customs administration measures, an additional 149.6 billion tenge (about $332 million) was collected for the budget.
"External trade turnover with third countries in 2023 amounted to $111.3 billion. Including exports - $67.6 billion, and imports - $43.7 billion. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China in 2023 amounted to $31.5 billion, including exports - $14.7 billion, and imports - $16.8 billion," he added.
Meanwhile, the state budget of Kazakhstan received revenues of about 1 trillion tenge (about $2.2 billion) in January 2024. The state budget revenue plan was fulfilled by 111.5 percent.
At the same time, the Republican budget received 521 billion tenge (about $1.16 billion) in revenues.
Local budget revenues were fulfilled by 191.3 percent and amounted to 526 billion tenge (about $1.17 billion). The plan was exceeded by 251 billion tenge (about $560 million), of which, in taxes, by 223 billion tenge (about $497 million).
In addition, expenditures of the state budget were fulfilled by 96.9 percent, republican budgets by 97.8 percent, and local budgets by 94.5 percent.
